Operation Hault: Change Senior Military Officers and Replace them With New Recruits Military Officers-Yawhimahene Calls on Government.

The chief of Yawhima in the Sunyani Municipal of the Bono Region Nana Ansu Ababio II has called on the government and the Minister of Lands and National Resources to reconsider the deployment of senior military officers for operation galamstop on the quest to stop galamsey activities in the country.

According to thosecalledcelebss e chief, for a long time, the senior military officers have been using operation halt and operation galamstop to fight the activities of illegal mining in the affected communities but to no avail therefore their strategy of operation needs to be changed to allow the Junior officers to take charge to fight the menace.

He said, that senior military officers have been on the field for quite a long without being able to deal with the situation hence the recruits of junior military officers must be adopted to deal with the situation because the recruits will be able to follow the commands of their senior commanders and they are not eager to seek for money but rather will fight the canker.

Nana Ababio emphasized that gradually if the galamsey issues are not dealt with now, Ghana will lose all our natural resources both lands, timber, rivers, and ralsrailsse made this statement during the first-anniversary celebration of the Yawhima House Faith Ministry.

The resident pastor of the House of Faith Ministry in Columbus Ohio in USA, Rev. Stephen Opoku also called on Ghanaians especially the leaders of NPP and NDC to unite to fight against galamsey because with division it will be hard to stop the canker from destroying the nation.

According to him, both NPP and NDC are intended to stop galamsey so what prevents them from coming together as a body to discuss galamsey and its related issues and to find a lasting solution to it?

Adding that, it is about Ghana, not any political party because pollution in our water bodies is affecting our health and destroying the opportunities of future generations.
