NPP Won 1992 Polls But It Was Stolen By  JJ Rawlings' NDC -Musah Superior Drops Bombshell
General Secretary hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Iddrisu Musah Superior, has dropped a bombshell when he proclaimed that the NPP has virtually won the 1992 general elections which were held on December 3, 1992, with its Presidential Candidate, Prof. Albert  Adu Boahen.
But, Mr. Musah was quick to state that the former late President, Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings who ran as the candidate of the Progressive Alliance, which included his National Democratic Congress (NDC) stole the verdict of the NPP and won the election with 2,323,135 votes, which represents 58.4% of the vote, enough to win without the need for a runoff.
The presidential elections were held in Ghana on 3 November 1992. Mr. Rawlings, Prof Adu Boahen, and former President Dr. Hilla Limann were the first contested elections held in the country since 1979, and only the fourth contested elections of any sort since the country gained independence in 1957.
Mr. Rawlings, who had led the country since taking power in a 1981 coup, had grudgingly agreed to hold multiparty elections earlier in the year.
Rawlings ran as the candidate of the Progressive Alliance, which included his National Democratic Congress, and won 58.4% of the vote, enough to win without the need for a runoff. Voter turnout was 50.2%.
The opposition accused Mr. Rawlings and his supporters of engaging in massive fraud, including ballot-box stuffing and altering results after they were certified.
However, according to Mr. Musah who joined the NPP at the age of 21 years, he played an instrumental role in the 1992 victory for the NPP before the verdict was stolen and declared by the Electoral Commission head by Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan in the favour of the NDC under the former President JJ Rawlings.

Mr. Musah dropped this bombshell when he was speaking in an interview with a Ho
Bangkok-based Tosh FM 103.9 MHZ on its flagship political program dubbed; "Traffic Avenue," hosted by Master Ash aka Dee Fireman.

When asked who is Iddrisu Musah Superior, he responded to the host of the program that "Musah Superior is a humble, selfless, dedicated submissive, transparent, honest, God-fearing and law-abiding citizen of Ghana who hails from Northern Region.
According to him, he likes sports and reading, adding that "l do a lot of research on matters of the national and community importance.
He pointed out that "l worked in Ghana as a private personality, a businessman, work with a mining company in Obuasi, and came to Temple to become the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale metropolitan between the year 2017 and 2020 and now working as the Deputy Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission."
Showcasing his political track records and vast contributions to the NPP, Mr. Musah who is a foundation member of the party disclosed that he has been with NPP since the Danquah-Busia Tradition in the Politics of Ghana when he was the age of 21years.
He explained that he was the youngest member of the Danquah-Busia tradition of the northern territory and then he worked together with the personalities who seen to the establishment of the NPP on July 28, 1992.
He pointed out that he was one of the first grassroots communicators of the NPP.
He said those days "we didn't have a lot of television and radio stations in Ghana and therefore we were doing the grassroots communication works of the NPP in the rural communities across all the country.
"We were advocating in the rural communities in the nights that was the late former President JJ Rawlings era who was looking for the people who contradicted his personality," Mr. Musah told the host.
He asserted that they "worked so hard and that in the year 1992 general elections, the NPP lost the election even though in his judgment, the 1992 electioneering campaigns were the biggest and the most efficient political mobilization ever done by the members of the NPP."
He added that "because the party came through without any structure and foundation and that competing with the NDC which metaphors from the PNDC to the NDC... So we in the NPP lost the general elections.
He reiterated that the NPP won the 1992 elections but it was stolen by JJ Rawlings' NDC.
Mr. Musah stressed Mr. Rawlings used his power to forcibly take away the verdict from the NPP and that how comes the NPP produced a document known as the stolen verdict: Ghana, November 1992 presidential election: report of the New Patriotic Party.
He noted that he has not lost hope and that he kept working for the NPP, saying that in 2000 "we contested another election with their Presidential Candidate, former President John Agyekum Kufuor and God willing the NPP won the election.
According to him, since that time, he keeps working for the NPP, adding that "n fact before the 2000 general election he was the Founder of the Young Elephant Club and that he was all over the country campaigning vigorously for the NPP.
Additionally, he stressed that he was the leader of the group of young members of the NPP who was advocating for the party.
He asserted that in 2005, he contested to become the National Organiser of the NPP at the national executive's Congress of the party held at the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra.
He maintained that those in the contest of the National Organiser of the NPP were Alhaji Mutari Baba, who was then the former Deputy Presidential Affairs Minister and the current Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mr
Lord Oblitey Commey and eventually Mr. Commey won the slot.
He indicated that because "we are dedicated to the NPP,  with the selfless attitudes we are still working for the NPP until the party nominated "me to become the Parliamentary candidate for Tamale Central Constituency to contest the 2012 general elections.
"Unfortunately l lost the election to the NDC parliamentary candidate, Mr. Inusah Fuseini.
who won the seat to became the Tamale Central Member of Parliament (MP)," he noted.
Despite his defeat, Mr. Musah said he kept working for the NPP until he became the Special Assistant to the General Secretary of the NPP and then a Senior Campaign Aide to then Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the year 2015 to 2016.
He stated categorically that his truck records and contributions to the NPP since the formation of the party in 1992 showed clearly that he is in good standing as a member of the NPP and that has informed his decision to contest the position of the General Secretary of the party.
He pointed out that looking current situation within the party, he believes strongly the NPP cannot break the eight years cycle roles without him and called on the delegates to vote for him massively to win the slot to help achieve its intended dream.
Mr. Musah called for effective change in the national leadership of the party.
Effective leadership, he stressed was the only way to reposition the party firmly as the ruling political party, adding that the NPP cannot break eight years jinx with the present state of affairs at its national level.
