NPP disproves allegations relating to Sunyani Airport.

Following the Sunyani Airport's reopening by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo after years of being closed by the previous NDC administration, Mr. Shadrach Abrefa Mensa, the former deputy bono regional youth organizer for the National Patriotic Party (NPP), has refuted claims and false media reports.

Mr. Shadrach Abrefa asserts that it is impossible to claim that the Sunyani Airport is not a working airport because such a claim cannot be supported by any technical, administrative, or architectural evidence and cannot be recognized within the aviation industry.

"As far as I'm concerned, this is an airport and should be referred to as such, just like every other airport in the nation", he mentioned.

This is in response to statements made by a group called Sunyani Deserves Better on social media and on a few news websites in the Bono region that the airport cannot be referred to as an airport until phase 2 of the construction is complete.

Mr. Shadrach Abrefa Mensa further refuted the claim that the Sunyani Airport qualifies as an airport by pointing out that there is no supporting documentation for this claim in the Ghana Civil Aviation Regulations and Policy Guidelines Documents, Act 678 of 2004, Ghana Civil Aviation (Amendment) Act 2019, or the Ghana Civil Aviation Act itself.
