NDC outlines four-points measures pressing for 10% tax removal on betting

The opposition National Democratic Congress is rallying young people in the country to declare a resolute series of actions in resisting the burdensome and insensitive policy of imposing a 10% tax on bet wins.

To instigate further actions, the National Democratic Congress(NDC) has proposed four-points measure to mitigate against government's unwavering and unwillingness to heed calls for the abolishment of the 10% tax imposed on betting.

The party's demand is contained in a press statement dated August 16,2023 signed by George Opare Addo the National Youth Organizer.

Excerpt of the statement indicated that the party will engage the following;1.picket at the Ministry of Finance and occupy government offices across the country, 2.start and scale up a nationwide conventional and unconventional lawful agitations as a measure of the resistance, 3.intigate young people to confront officials of the government and demand an end to the corruption and insensitivity of the Akufo Addo-Bawumia failed brigade and 4. Occupy parliament and other government agencies.

The party reiterate calls urging young people in the country to mobilize and join in the struggle for freedom.

The party noted that young people will resist the effort by the government to compensate for the monies stolen and slashed by appointees of the NPP government and saved in their accounts and homes, the massive corruption happening at the Bank of Ghana under the watch of Dr. Ernest Addison, the failed vision of the president Akufo Addo's government, the lies of vice president, Dr. Mahamoudu Bawamia who had seen as a public ridicule amongst young people and the arrogance of the government who have taken the pleasure of stealing public funds, talking down on citizens and rubbing young people of their meager secured from betting.
