NDC Delegates,Faithfuls Invoke Curses At Duffour For Doing Biddings Of NPP
Thousands of delegates and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have invoked the several God's curses at the aspiring presidential candidate of the NDC, Dr. Kwabena Duffour for leading an attack on the party he is seeking to lead in the 2024 general elections, for which majority of them have declared their positions to vote against Dr. Duffour in the NDC presidential primary.

They have invoked curses on persons they said are Team Duffour who included Yaw Boateng Gyan, Koku Anyidoho, Allotey Jacob,Solomon Nkansah ,Kofi Kukubor, Dela Coffie among others.
They noted that these are all renegades of NDC who are doing the biddings of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) just to rock "our boat towards recapturing power come 2024 but God no go shame us."
They want their God to deal with those involved and alleged to be operating under supreme interest of the NPP to create problem in the NDC.
The beef of delegates and members of the NDC comes to fore when the former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has arrogated power to himself to file an interlocutory injunction against the party's upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023.
The delegates invoked the curses at Dr Duffour and the Team Duffour when the Soireenews.com conducted the voices survey after the former of Central Bank Governor has dragged the NDC to the court.
In papers sighted by Soireenews.com dated May 9, 2023; the suit names five respondents as follows: the General Secretary of the NDC, the Director of the Elections Directorate, fellow flagbearer hopefuls John Dramani Mahama and Kojo Bonsu and the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
According to the writ, the defendants have been commanded to enter their appearance within eight days of being served with the legal documents.
The writ added that failure to comply with the order may result in a judgment being passed in their absence without further notice.
Aside the motion on notice and the statement of claim filed, a number of exhibits are also filed with one of them being a WhatsApp communication with NDC General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey.
The communication is in respect of the failure by the Elections Committee of the party to deliver on its timeline to make the mandated voter list and photo album to be used for the voting available.
Dr. Duffour is completely aware that he cannot win the slot to become flagbearer of the NDC, saying that his actions were ostensibly exhibited to create impression that there are division and trouble of the NDC ahead of the 2024 general election.
They pointed out that their checks have revealed that Dr Duffour has dragged the NDC to court, ostensibly to ensure the delay the processes of voting presidential and parliamentary candidates, saying that he wants the NPP to take advantage of the situation.

They indicated that the current court of Dr Duffour was not the only evil plans hatched to bring the confusion and division within the NDC ahead of the 2024 general election.

They mentioned that according to information obtained by Rainbowradioonline.com, Dr. Duffour encouraged his son, Dr. Kwabena Duffour Jnr., to contest the incumbent MP for Sekyere Afraim Plains, Alex Adomako-Mensah because he [Adomako-Mensah] advised Dr. Duffour to declare his support for former President John Dramani Mahama and not contest him.
According to information obtained by this website, the current MP, who is the junior brother of the former finance minister, advised him to support John Mahama because he was more likely to help the NDC win the elections in 2024.
His plea, however, did not go over well with the aspiring presidential candidate.
The sources within the Minority caucus, the lawmaker explained to his brother that the option was for Dr. Duffour to join the Mahama ticket and support him in 2024.
Aside from that, the MP also told his brother he was declaring for John Mahama although he [Duffour] was contesting.
"Dr. Duffour encouraged his son to run against his uncle, Alex Adomako-Mensah, our current MP. Duffour and Hon. Adomako are blood relatives. Hon. Adomako’s only crime was advising his older brother, Duffour, not to run in the Presidential Primaries but instead to back JM. Hon. Adomako informed Duffour that he is a supporter of JM. As a punishment for his brother’s honesty, he turned his son against him. Politics is a tricky business,” our sources said.
In this sense, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak has revealed that delegates of the NDC are livid following the decision by Dr. Kwabena Duffour to drag the party to court over the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries.
He described the former finance minister as a sellout trying to drag the party in the mud.
Reacting to this, the lawmaker said the former minister is engaging in a frivolous matter and does not mean well for the NDC.
In his view, the delegates are angry and have threatened to punish the aspirant for what he has done.
He said this act by Dr. Duffour will bring nothing but humiliation on the day of the elections.
“NDC delegates are livid & will punish Dr. Duffour severely for what they see as an affront to the party and its forward march. Many say his move to injunct the vote the on 13th confirms that he is a sellout. This frivolous move will only accentuate the expected humiliating defeat.”
For his part, a political science lecturer at the Department of History and Political Studies at KNUST, Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng, has described as vague the interlocutory injunction filed by Dr Duffuor against the upcoming party primaries.
According to him, Dr Duffuor’s suit is not substantial enough to merit a court hearing; rather, the concerns identified should be dealt with internally.
“You want to say that Dr Duffuor’s camp has a case, but that notwithstanding, they don’t have a case in going to court, because you should be part of the solution, especially in a time when you are seeking to be flagbearer of the party. You are indicating that you are among the top members of the party,” he said.
He added that the dynamics of the court do not support internal politics.
“The moment a case comes up and you resort to court, then you have lost it because the court dynamics is different altogether,” he added.
