NDC Akwatia Parliamentary Hopeful,Erasmus Koney Ali Congratulates Gyakye Quayson For His Massive Victory
According to Mr. Koney, who is popularly known as Asanka Poyooyo, the massive victory of Honourable Quayson in the Assin North by-election which was held on Tuesday June 27, 2023, has meant a lot to NDC and the country as whole, especially under this excruciating hardship that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of the day has visited on Ghanaians in this country.

An aspiring parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr. Erasmus Koney Ali, has demonstrated his good leadership to join thousands of the NDC faithfuls including prominent chiefs and people in the country to congratulate Member of Parliament (MP) elect for Assin North Constituency in Central Region, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson for his massive victory of over 57.4 % in the just ended by-election to shame his enemies.
According to Mr. Koney, who is popularly known as Asanka Poyooyo, the massive victory of Honourable Quayson in the Assin North by-election which was held on Tuesday June 27, 2023, has meant a lot to NDC and the country as whole, especially under this excruciating hardship that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of the day has visited on Ghanaians in this country.
"Honourable Erasmus Koney Ali and the entire NDC members congratulate you for your overwhelming victory.The party machinery has done tremendously very well for their active role for chalking this enviable success for Honourable James Gyakye Quayson.
"Our struggle to give you justice wasn’t in vain and we are most grateful to Allah," Honourable Koney who is a Muslim by faith made these foregoing statements in his congratulatory message to Honourable Quayson and copied to Soireenews.com.
Provisional results from the 99 polling stations in Assin North show Mr. Quayson securing 57.4% of the votes (17,205) while the NPP’s Charles Opoku followed with 11,389 votes (42%).
Per the provisional results, the LPG’s Sefenu woefully trailed behind with a paltry 85 votes (0.028%).
Honourable Quayson, who won the seat in the 2020 polls with 17,498 votes, was kicked out of Parliament for having dual citizenship prior to filing his nomination forms.
The Supreme Court subsequently ordered Parliament to expunge his name from its records. After declaring the seat vacant, the Electoral Commission was compelled to schedule a by-election in the constituency
It would be recalled that, prior to the by-election, Mr Koney has demonstrate his good political leadership to also join the rank and file of the NDC to empathize with Assin North electorates as they gear up for tomorrow's by-election.
The cheerful crowd couldn't hold their excitement after engaging with Mr. Koney who is widely tipped to win Akwatia parliamentary race on the ticket of the NDC to lead the party to retain the seat in the 2024 general election.
The Akwatia Darling Boy used the occasion to trumpet the voice of the NDC and encouraged the masses to massively vote for honourable Queyson to retain the seat for the NDC.
As a selfless leader, he later on engaged mavericks including Kojo Jones (PhD), Honourable Marrieta Brew ( Former Attorney general), Honourable Sam George among others to pontificate the ideas of the party to the many exuberant youth in the Assin North.
