Veteran Ghanaian actor, KSM, has expressed his regret for the way his relationship with National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) turned out.

The highly-rated talk show host explained that he had to leave the institution without notice in his first year to pursue free education abroad.

He recalled that he felt so guilty that when he came back the first thing he did was to head over to the institution to offer his teaching services for free.

According to him, the authorities of the school were initially very excited at his proposal but he never heard from them again. He speculated that this might have been because they checked the records and discovered that he left the school without notice.

"I went to NAFTI and in one (1) year, I left the place. That was around the time I started a play titled ‘Melo -Madness’ where I played seven (7) characters." He narrated while speaking in an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ hosted by Rev Erskine.

“A cultural attache of the US embassy in Ghana, Richard Overton came to see me perform the ‘Melo-Madness’, loved it and invited me to perform the same play to a couple of diplomats and embassy staff of the US embassy in Ghana at the US Information Centre (USIS).”

“I had already gained admission and received a scholarship to a school in the US. Richard Overton waived my visa application for me. I never went for a visa interview. And all this happened when I was finishing my first (1st) year at NAFTI” he said.

KSM stated that immediately he got back to Ghana, the first thing he felt right was to go and make amends at the school.

"When I moved back to Ghana in 1996, NAFTI was the first place I visited and I offered to teach at the school for free. They may have checked my records and found out I left the school without any notice,” he concluded.
