Mixed reaction greets teenage pregnancy hike, as residents blame parents
Residents believe that parent attack on teachers when they discipline their wards also contribute to the high rate of teenage pregnancy.

Some residents in the Sunyani Municipality have added their voice to the comment made by the Former Gender Minister Honourable Atiko Afisa Gyaba on the attitude of some men been the major cause of teenage pregnancy in the country.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews, some of the residents argued that, parents inability to control the female child is the major cause of the canker hence they must be blamed.
They believe the attitude of some parents attacking teachers who punish their children at School among others has been contributing to the current stubbornness among teens especially the girl child.
Some parents however suggested that there should be a ban on some of the dresses that expose these teenage girls to premarital sex which leads to teenage pregnancy.
They also blamed the kind of sex movies shown on the various television networks which must be stopped.
