Manchester United has signed FC Porto defender, Alex Telles on a four-year contract, the club confirmed on deadline day.

The 27-year old has an option to extend the agreement for another year and will compete with Luke Shaw for the left-back position. The Brazilian scored 26 goals over five seasons with Porto and notched 50 assists.

The defender after putting pen to paper revealed his delight and readiness for his new challenge.

“To join a club with the prestige of Manchester United is a huge honour. You have to work hard to get to this moment in your career and now I am coming to this club, I can promise that I will give everything in my heart to be a success here.
