Xavi Hernandez has hinted of a possible return to Barcelona as the head coach.

The manager of Al Sadd in Qatar earlier turned down the opportunity to become the Barca manager following the exit of Ernesto Valverde calling it “too early” to return.

According to him, he received an offer from his former team but after accessing his chances at such a top level, he opted to continue his role at Al-Sadd since it was too early for such an opportunity.

"Yes, I received an offer from Barcelona in the presence of Eric Abidal and Oscar Grau, but I didn't accept it," he told reporters, as per Goal.

"It's too soon to coach Barcelona, but it will continue to be my dream to be Barcelona coach in the future.

"I told my family first and then the Al-Sadd players because they were following the topic. I wasn't in my best position during the three days, but I'm now totally focused on Al -Sadd."

Speaking to YouTuber DJMariiO in an interview for Post United, the former midfielder told on how he is prepared to return home and coach the Blaugranas.

"I've tested myself as a coach," he said.

"I see myself as capable and it's a dream to return to Barcelona.

"I've said on a number of occasions that Barcelona is my home, it's my life."

Xavi is currently in charge of Al Sadd in Qatar, where he has a contract that runs until June 2021.

While he's still tied down to Al Sadd, the former midfielder's representatives are keeping tabs on the situation at Barcelona.

The Catalan club aren't thinking about Xavi at the moment because they've only just appointed Quique Setien, whose deal runs until 2022.
