Man appears in court over viral Nigerian school video

Uche Igwe, a 40-year-old Nigerian man, has been charged with spreading a viral video of kids on social media from Chrisland School in Lagos.

The video received worldwide attention, leading to the school's closure over allegations of "sexual misconduct" by students during an international trip, according to the school's management at the time.

Mr. Igwe, the broadcaster, is charged with cyberstalking and breach of peace on two counts.

He entered a not guilty plea.

He was granted bail, and the case was postponed until June 13th.

Anyone caught publishing or sharing pornographic materials of children might spend 14 years in prison, according to the Lagos state administration.

The issue that sparked public indignation last month is still being investigated.
