Lyrical Joe: Money Spent on Football Should Go Towards Ghanaian Musicians

In response to the Black Stars' appalling performance in the current AFCON, he made this statement.

The Ghanaian government has poured a lot of money into the Black Stars' AFCON campaign, but it doesn't appear to have paid off.

The Black Stars lost their initial game against Cape Verde and drew with both Egypt and Mozambique.

The Black Stars have been eliminated from the AFCON after only two points.

Lyrical stated in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM that he believes Ghanaian musicians should be supported with the money spent on football.

He claims that although Ghanaian musicians are trying their hardest to push limits, they are unable to do so due to financial limitations.

lyrical Joe thinks Ghanaian musicians could have a greater influence and be able to win Grammys if the money allocated to football was instead used for them.

"With that kind of money, we can win the Grammys and have a bigger impact, and it's obvious that nobody is lying or doing anything else," he remarked.

"The same amount that the government spends on football to sponsor all these things, it does not spend on music," he continued. The government doesn't spend that enormous sum on us, even though musicians may spend that much on their work.

Lyrical Joe said, "That's why people get hurt or the country will be affected when we lose in a competition like that because this money is not child's play money," in response to the question of why Ghanaians take offense at the Black Stars' mistakes so easily.
