The Paramount Chief of the Ga State in the Greater Accra Region, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has stated categorically that it is necessary for Ghanaians to joins hands in the fight against novel coronavirus.

According to him, coronavirus has come to stay with humans globally therefore there is the need to know how to live with it.

The King made this known during Gold Fields Ghana Limited’s visits to Ga Mantse Palace at Kaneshie in Accra

 He entreated Ghanaians and corporate organizations to strengthen the observance of Covid-19 safety protocols.

Ga Mantse said every citizen must wear nose masks and ensure that others do the same.

He, however, pledged to champion the fight against coronavirus in Ga communities and the country as a whole.

Gold Fields Ghana Limited on the other hand donated sanitizing chambers to the Ga Mantse to help fight against the plague.

Presenting the items to King Tackie Teiko Tsuru, II, the Regional Head of Supply Chain of Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Mr. Theophilus Otchere, and expressed gratefulness to the Ga State for the good terms between the mining company and the King.

 Mr. Otchere said Gold Fields Ghana Limited is always reliable to assist Ga Mantse in all his endeavors.  

 He appealed to other companies to support this initiative to provide more disinfection chambers to Ga and other communities.

The Ga Mantse remarked that the hand sanitizer will boost efforts by the Ga Traditional Council to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Ga communities and keep the People Safe.

Gold Fields has already committed over US$850,000 to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in its operations, in support of the Government’s efforts to keep the population safe.
