'Keep Kane at Spurs and spend money on transfer targets’ – David Ginola urges Daniel Levy

Former France and Tottenham Hotspurs star David Ginola has urged Daniel Levy to splash the cash in the transfer market in order to convince Harry Kane to stay.

Speculation over his future has been rife after he expressed his desire to leave earlier this summer, with Spurs reportedly rejecting an offer in excess of £100million from Manchester City.

The England captain was absent from Spurs’ training ground as expected early last week, later insisting he had not refused to train at his boyhood club in a strongly-worded statement.

Yet the Lilywhites have been active in the transfer market, regardless of Kane’s availability, bringing in the likes of Bryan Gil, Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero already.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo will hold talks with the 28-year-old about his future in north London, yet it seems there could be a flurry of activity in the final weeks of the window.

Ginola, who made 127 appearances in a three-year spell with Spurs, believes Levy must invest in the playing squad again to entice the marksman to stay.

“For Harry Kane, it is a very simple question; would I want to stay and make Spurs great?

“If you want to win trophies, you have to keep the best players and invest in other players to be a strong team.

“You need to do that with Harry Kane; he is the captain, one of the main figures, one of the best strikers in the world.

“Because of that, you need to keep Harry Kane at the club. For that, you have to spend money. It is very simple actually.”

That’s another question. It is a huge task for Daniel Levy because the fans are waiting for the decision and hopefully, the decision will be for Harry Kane to stay at the club.
