Jubilation Galore As Mahama Promises To Restore Licenses Of Collapsed Banks If He Becomes President 
Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has given a strong assurance that licenses of the collapsed commercial banks will be restored if he becomes the next President of the Republic of Ghana.
The pronouncement of Mr Mahama during his acceptance speech on Monday, May 15, 2023 in Tamale amidst jubilation by the customers and owners of these banks including the workers who have lost their jobs during the banks cleaning exercise by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) when it took over political power from the NPP in 2016.

According to him, next NDC government will fight corruption with robust measures, assuring to work hard to restore of stability and bringing investor confidence back in the Ghanaian economy.
He indicated that under his watch the Ghana would not suffer deadly debt crisis, adding that he would ensure the creation of jobs for the teaming unemployed youth.
He further given assurance to establish governance advisory council which includes religious leaders, Civil Society organizations and traditional leaders. 
"I would completion of abandoned state projects and abolish ex- gratia and review the Ghana's constitution," he added.
He maintained that he would equip anti-corruption state institutions to work without any interference from government. 
He said he would set up a commission of equity to investigate stolen lands indicating that when he becomes the president he would ensure that Ghanaian media will be given a conducive environment to work.
Speaking further, Mr. Mahama expressed appreciation for what he says is the contribution of Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Kojo Bonsu, and Ernest Kobeah towards a successful election.
According to him, their actions contributed to enhancing the internal democratic systems of the party.
“Let me, on your behalf and on my own behalf, acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Kwabena Duffour, former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu, and Mr. Ernest Kobeah for what they have done towards enhancing the internal democratic systems of our party,” he said.
Mr. Mahama also extended his appreciation to the Electoral Commission for the successful polls, while urging Ghanaians to work towards voting for the NDC to change the fortunes of the country.
“I also wish to thank the staff of the Electoral Commission for their support in making our parliamentary and presidential elections a resounding success.
“I’m confident that in December 2024, Ghanaians will make that choice that will put Ghana back on track,” he added.
