The Northern Regional Police Commander, COP Timothy Yoosa Bonga has charged vehicle owners to consider placing trackers in their vehicles for easy tracing when stolen.

Speaking to Soireenews in relation to the arm robbery case where six (6) persons snatched a Toyota camry Salon car in Jonshegu, a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis yesterday 23rd January, 2022, he said vehicle trackers doesn't cost much as compare to the amount use to purchase a vehicle.

He noted that, investigation has been established to unearth the activities of the arrested suspects.

COP Timothy however enumerated that none of the arrested suspects are military personnel, but they were only apprehended in military uniform.

Detailing Soireenews how the suspected Armrobbers undertook the snatched the Camry car in Tamale, COP Timothy revealed that "Some people attacked and robbed someone in Tamale of his Toyata Camery Vehicle and other items and fled towards Buipe direction, the Buipe highway patrol team on duty at Sawaba Police checkpoint on Buipe - Tamale highway intercepted and arrested occupants of two vehicles with registration number AS8445-19 and GX6923-20 in connection with the crime and brought same to Buipe Police Station with the following suspects on board: 1. Ibrahim Issah aged 27, Contractor/Accra 2. Mohammed Mustapha in military uniform, aged 23, Burma camp DI 3. Vivor Christopher aged 27 phones repairer 4. Benyamin Ajyei aged 23 mobile money vendor, Accra 5. Seyram Addo aged 29, Plumber, Danfa/ Madina". 

According to him, search conducted on them found 13 assorted mobile phones, one Falcon Foreign Pistol loaded with 9mm ammunition, a wallet containing a bunch of keys together with two handcuffs key, two Voter's ID Cards, Melcom card, Access Bank card and cash the sum of GHC21.20p. 

He added that Military uniforms, Police Ballistic helmet and police uniforms were also found in the Toyota Camry Spider with registration number GX6923-20.

The suspects, according to him are currently being process to the law court.
