The Executive Governor of the State of Kaduna, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is currently holding a high-profile meeting with Security Agencies, attended by Air Vice Marshall M. I. Mukhtar, AI Koya of DSSS, Brigadier General E. E. Eji of the DIA, Major General C. C. Okonkwo the Commander, Operation Safe Haven; Brigadier General O. S. Aboi, Commander 1 Division Garrison; the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Onah A. Sunday; the Area Commander Kafanchan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Danladi Ibrahim, and various other representatives of the security organizations.

Malam Nasir El-Rufai is hosting the review meeting based on the situation in southern Kaduna.

The army, police, and other security agencies are presenting situation reports, analyses, and recommendations.

The southern part of the State has experienced regular cases of murders and bloody ethnic clashes which has left many parts of the southern Kaduna areas devastated and in tension.

The state government had devised many means to tackle the malady but it appears that the methods have not been effective as much as desired.

Recall, three weeks earlier, 20 people were killed in Kaduna, and there have been several killings since then especially within the southern part of the State.

This situation has led to many decrying the plight of the communities in southern Kaduna, leading to online campaigns and physical protests.

It was also reported that southern Kaduna women protested half-naked and cried out to government and the local and international stakeholders to do something drastic to save this situation.

Despite all that the State Government has done, there still happen cases of killings.

The State Government had imposed curfews to bring a modicum of calm and enhance investigation, but it is becoming obvious that a review of strategies is most expedient at the moment.
