Kuami Eugene has vowed to one day venture into politics.

The highlife artiste stated that he is ready to take up the mantle to make the country better if the people deem him fit for the position.

While speaking on “Y’Adwuma Nie” on Angel FM with DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, the Artist of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the year awards at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards mentioned that he has been mentally preparing himself for future leadership roles.

According to him, any opportunity that comes his way will be utilised efficiently.

“I have plans. I am not only concerned about music. I have more ambitions even to occupy other positions including government positions. It would not be bad to take up a role in government, because I am the kind of guy who is concerned about our collective wellbeing.

“So to reach that level, you need to attain certain qualifications. I am working towards it, putting together some online studies to be able to attain some certificates and more towards the future,”

Kuami Eugene has been playing the role of a neutral in party politics, as he didn't openly support any party in the recently 2020 elections.

He admitted that he didn't knowingly go against Mahama in his Akinola-Addo anthem track which Sarkodie featured him in.

“All I knew was that [Sarkodie] sent his first verse so I listened and put together a chorus. That’s why I was singing, everybody gave glory because he said he wanted to do an inspirational song."

“I spoke to my manager this morning. After the video shoot, I came back to my management telling him I think there is some endorsement for Nana [Akufo-Addo] in the song because the second verse he talks about ‘Nana Toaso’ and the last bit of the song which I did not hear when I was on set because the song never got to the last bit of it." he noted.
