Arsenal are ready to make a £45m bid for Thomas Partey, talkSPORTS reports.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Ghanaian midfielder for months and reports suggest that a last-minute swoop for the Atletico Madrid player is been engineered by Arteta.

The Arsenal manager earlier assured on the eve of Arsenal’s Premier League opener away to newly-promoted Fulham that the Gunners transfer business is far from over, revealing that possible additions will be welcomed.

“We are still active in the market, we are looking at different options,” he said.

“We are active in the market with players in and out, at the moment the squad balance is not ideal.

“There is still some work to do, but we have to bear in mind the complications of this market. The complexity and as well the timing because you can see that clubs are behaving in many different ways and it is a bit uncertain how this is going to evolve in the next few weeks. Numbers-wise, some positions are overbooked. Some others, in terms of the specific qualities we need, are still not there.”

Samuel Zigah, who is the 27-year-old’s PR officer, sent fans into overdrive earlier today by tweeting an emoji of an hourglass.

Matteo Guendouzi has joined Hertha Berlin on a season loan and the manager has reserved a room for the 27-year at the Emirates to strengthen his midfield.
