The UN climate summit in Egypt has been prolonged by an additional day due to the impasse in negotiations over compensation for less developed nations, many of them African ones who are suffering the effects of climate change.

Sameh Shoukry, the president of the COP27 meeting from Egypt, expressed alarm about the volume of unresolved concerns.

The creation of a special fund for the most vulnerable countries is a suggestion made by the European Union (EU).
