Ras Kuuku has descended on Achimota school for still not accepting two Rastafarians even after the Ghana Education Service (GES) ordered them to.

Two Senior High School students were earlier denied entry into because of their hairstyles was Rastafarians.

This made Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, call the institution out for hating a particular religion as children should not be denied education on grounds of faith.

"May I ask please, what harm does it cause a school from admitting students because of their hairstyle as Rastafarians?" he had asked.

On seeing his message, the Ghana Education Service (GES) intervened and directed the school to admit the kids.

Director-General of GES, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa mandated that the embattled students be given admission to Achimota School on Monday, March 22, 2021.

“We have directed Achimota School Headmistress to admit the students. The student is a Rastafarian and if there is evidence to show that he is, all that he needs to do is tie the hair neatly,” the GES boss told the national daily.

“So you cannot say that you will not admit someone on the basis of the person’s religious beliefs, and so, we have asked the Head to allow the children to be in the school,” He said.

This directive however, was not enough as the school refused to bow to pressure from the Ghana Education Service (GES) to admit two Rastafarians with dreadlocks.

The President of the Old Achimotans Association, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey described the decision by the Ghana Education Service as undermining the authority of the School’s governing board.

Ras Kuuku has now expressed his disbelief at the actions of the school.

The artiste stated that dreadlocks were not alien to the African Tradition and hence it would be prudent for the management of Achimota School to grant the students admission.

“This is the highest form of discrimination in recent times and I am shocked it is happening. God’s wrath will visit Achimota School if they fail to allow the students into the school…,”He maintained.
