Some residents living at Suma Ahenkro, Konadu Yiadom Electoral Area in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region are appealing to the government for electricity extension since the area is plunged into darkness

According to the residents, they have been living in darkness for several years and no attempt has been made by anybody to extend their electricity coverage to the area.

They complained of some challenges they have been going through which is very disturbing like theft and snakes bites due to lack of electricity in the area.

They are therefore calling on the Volta River Authority (VRA),  the Jaman North District Assembly and other authorities to come to their aid to rescue them from the darkness.

Touching on some other challenges facing the area, the residents also appealed for evacuation of a refuse dump which is situated close to houses which could easily trigger disease outbreak due to the stench from the site.

According to them, several attempts by them to get authorities to come to their aid to empty the age-long refuse dump have proven futile hence their cry.

Assemblymember for the area, Hon. Prince Atta Edward also appealed to the government to come to their aid as the community has been deprived as far as development is concerned.

He stressed that even though the area is faced with lots of challenges and several attempts have been made by the community folks but both current and past governments seem to be unconcerned hence their cry.
