Ghana Must Prosper With Everyone On Board; Killing, Murder And Shooting Of People Because Of Positions Must Stop Now—Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi Raises Red Flag

CHAIRMAN of the Eastern Regional Legal Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Isaac Minta Larbi has raised red flag over persistence incidence of killing, murder and shooting high profile citizens in connection with politics, or political positions, chieftaincy and land disputes in the country.

According to him, the incidence of killing, murder, shooting, stabbing and beating of the people in Ghana because of competition in political positions has raised its ugly head, stressing that the increased phenomenon has continued to soil the reputation of Ghana.

He indicated that Ghana must prosper with everyone on board, saying that "there should be no hatred, no killing, no shooting and no stabbing if people in the name of politics."

He stressed that we must be "Free to speak our mind without malice, we should be friends everyday with no jealousy, no greed, and no intimidation."

He warned that "No one should die because of politics. We are one family in Ghana despite our choice to be in different political parties."

According to him, Our different interests should not be the reason for killing each other, noting that the opportunity to advance should not be the reason to destroy another.

"This is why I feel so terrible that 8 Ghanaians were shot dead during the 2020 elections. Why should someone die for you to win power? Why should someone die for you to get the chance?, he asked.

The legal luminary described this as evil and  stressed the need for all Ghanaians to muster courage to speak against it.

According to him, politics is meant to help us become better people in a better country, saying that It is not meant to be used to destroy ourselves, warning that there are some lines 'we should not cross.'

Quoting Ephesians 4: 26-27 to support his claim, Mr Larbi stressed that "May the soul of every Ghanaian who departed from this world in the unfortunate circumstances of politics rest in peace.
