The Video Assistant Referee’s reliability is at stake as the technology is being attacked week in and out following decisions on the field of play.

Decisions at Craven Cottage and Anfield have once again raised doubts about the believability of VAR after Timo Werner’s goal against Liverpool was denied and Fulham’s equalizer against Spurs.

The Chelsea forward scored in the 24th minute in the home of the reigning champions after latching a Jorginho's long ball before poking it behind Alisson who was out of post but his joy was cut short after VAR disallowed the lead.

Scott Parker was left fuming at the touchline after Josh Maja's equaliser against Spurs was also called off after the centre referee adjudged Mario Lemina to have handled the ball with his hand.

Ian 'Moose' Abrahams has expressed utmost discontent at the situation and how VAR is negatively affecting the game on talkSPORTS breakfast show saying, “I felt for Fulham. We've had VAR for a couple of seasons and I think everyone has the same thought that they would just take it, put it in the dustbin and be done with it.

“Football has stopped being a sport now and it's become a science. That's not what it should be!

“There was a goal disallowed at Anfield over armpit hairs, that's not offside, that's not what VAR was meant for.

“VAR was meant for clear and obvious errors. The things that football fans look forward to most is a goal.”
