Members of the fabled Kumerican movement have expressed their displeasure over the actions of celebrity blogger ZionFelix and rapper Flowking Stone on what they labelled as an exploitation of their creativity.

According to them, the two celebrities took advantage of the "Kumerican Movement" that they had started for their own personal benefits without learning the source of the movement or even paying due homage to it.

The members, TonyDath, Kizo Drips and Rapper Ebaadze, claimed that Flowking Stone released his 'Oseikrom Geng', a song that featured Phaize Gh and Obey Tunez, immediately touting the track as street anthem in Ghana from Kumerica” While ZionFelix featured the likes of Reggie Rockstone Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Yaa Jackson, Amerado, Ypee, Brenya among other on a project he made on the Kumerican movement.

While speaking on GhanaWeb TV’s entertainment review show Bloggers’ Forum, the boys claimed that they were the real originators of the movement and the other superstars just stole it.

“They have tapped into the craze without finding out its origin. You heard the name and just decided to organize people for a track…” said a disappointed TonyDath.

“When it went viral, people started doing flags, T-shirts.... They started changing the names of our towns to that of America… We couldn’t have excused ourselves from the fad; we had to let it flow and later come out to set the record straight,” He told show host Abrantepa.

Entertainment pundit, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, had earlier told Flowking Stone ZionFelix to leave the movement alone while speaking on the Entertainment Review programme on Peace FM, the Entertainment Writer.

“For me, I like their energy, they are full of excitement. I feel this is their moment and so I am wondering why anybody would knock their hustle…I feel some way that people are trying so hard to prevent them from having their time. I can understand where Oteng and the rest are coming from with the issue of originality etc..but I think people are exaggerating what is going on”, he said

“ If you understand the industry we have, everybody is striving for attention, again this industry is all about hype…they spoke about their willingness to do music a long time ago and through this movement, they are here. You should understand that what is happening now is a wave, a trend, it will pass, and in as much as I understand where Oteng and the rest are coming from, I am also wondering why they are bothering themselves so much over this wave that will fade off…” he concluded.
