Kane and Son celebrate the opener

First-half goals from Son Min Heung and Harry Kane restored Tottenham Hotspurs to the top of the Premier League against lacklustre Arsenal.

The win means Jose Mourinho has won 40 London derbies in the Premier League, with only Arsène Wenger winning more.

The first goal was recorded as early as the 13-minute from Son’s bullet into the right top corner of the net following Kane’s impressive pass from the midfield department towards the Korean international on the counter. Son switched the ball onto his right foot and rifled an unstoppable curler into the top corner from 30 yards.

It was the 30th combined goal from the duo in the Premier League and the second-most of any duo after Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard with 36.

Arsenal continued with their domination after the goal but weren’t clinical upfront as the Spurs defence were first in the air and blocked any passes and shots fired by the Gunners towards Aubameyang and Lacazette.

As the Gunners committed bodies at injury time in search for the equalizer, it turned into a counter after Aurier was won the ball to release Son through on the Arsenal goal. The South Korean's brilliant reverse pass then threaded Harry Kane in on the overlap, and he thundered a venomous effort in off the underside of the bar.

Partey absence from the pitch after a hurt left them exposed and was replaced by Ceballos after the goal seconds before offside.

The Gunners in the second half intensified the possession but the same old story persisted, the player to skillfully create the chance to be converted was the challenge. Lots of balls were floated into the Spurs yard box but Spurs defence were so quick never to let any loose opportunity.

Spurs move two points clear of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League and Arsenal dropped to 15th place, seven points above the bottom three but 11 behind leaders and rivals Tottenham.
