The former Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah is being extremely tight-lipped to confirm the media report that he intends to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary position.
Although the news broke out that the Director of Elections for the NDC would be the party General Secretary position for the 2024 general election, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah didn't reveal much information about the issue being put into the public domain.

When soireenews.com contacted him on Thursday, February 24, 2022,  the NDC outspoken young political just laughed and declined to comment. But there is a saying that goes that silence means unconcerned.
It would be recalled the news has gone viral on both social and traditional media platforms to the effect that  Mr. Afriyie Ankrah has announced his intention to contest for the General Secretary position of the National Democratic Congress.
In that report, it indicated that a close source told Ghanaweb that Elvis Afriyie Ankrah’s decision to contest the position comes after John Asiedu Nketia indicated he would not contest as the General Secretary of the party.
The media report stated that a poster with details about his candidacy is already making rounds on social media.
Even though Aseidu Nketia is yet to confirm this development, it is alleged that he is likely to contest as the National Chairman of the party or will stay away from the executive position in the party.
Meanwhile, the full list of individuals to contest the National Executive Position is yet to be announced by the party.
