EC goes on Christmas break amid protests

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will be going on a break for the Christmas festivities on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

The commission is expected to resume on January 19, 2021.

The EC's christmas break comes at the time, when the NDC is challenging some results of the just ended polls.

The NDC has alleged election fraud in some constituencies which they believe their candidates won.

The Minority Caucus in parliament yesterday, December 22, staged a demonstration and called for the recount of the Techiman South Parlaimentary election votes.

They also demanded that the Electoral Commission boss Jean Mensa be summoned to parliament to answer questions on the outcome of the just-ended polls.
