EC Explains New System to Manage Crowds at Registration Centres

The Electoral Commission has introduced a queue management system to deal with overcrowding at some registration centers in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area.

This follows the incidence of overcrowding at some registration centers last week which triggered concerns of possible mass COVID-19 spread.

According to the EC, the new queue management system will ensure that the first 150 applicants who arrive at the registration centers will be provided with “numbered chits”.

The first half of this number will be served from morning to early afternoon, while the second half will be asked to leave the centers and return in the afternoon when the registration process for the first batch has been completed.
