E-levy passed,Minority stages a walk  out

The minority in Ghana's parliament has staged a walk out at second reading of the electronic levy transaction.

The walk out which was occasioned by a heated argument between the majority and minority in parliament on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
The walk out followed after the minister Speakeasy finance, Ken Ofori Atta moved the motion for the bill to be accepted.

But, the minority, after their leader, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu summited that the bill would amount to a double taxation.
He advanced that if accepted would make life very difficult.

He lamented that even as at now, most Ghanaians particularly, those living in the hinterland find it  difficult to put food on their table.
"This means that life is really difficult Ghanaians hence the tax must not be accepted",the Minority leader advanced.

Though, the tax has been reduced from the initial 1.75% to 1.50%, the minority still insisted that the bill was not in the best interest of the Ghanaian", he added.
The bill, after passing through the consideration, the finance minister moved for the bill to be read for the third time and after several amendment and corrections, the E-levy was passed.
