Dormaa: Fire Service Appeals for help to repair faulty fire tender.

The Ghana National Fire Service in Dormaa is appealing for support to repair its faulty fire tender.
According to GNFS in Dorrmaa, the faulty tender is the only fire tender serving Dormaa in the Bono Region and its environs but has been breaking down for a while now due to lack of funds to maintain t.
According to management, efforts made to get funds to repair and service the broken-down vehicle have not been successful.
“The situation has disabled the service from responding swiftly to fire outbreaks in the Dormaa and its environs. This has been increasing the vulnerability of lives and properties as the fighting of a major fire outbreak remains a mirage”, the service cried out.
Station officer II in charge of rural fires, Samuel Adjei told Soiree News that the worrying situation compelled them not to swiftly respond to fire cases when told.
He said they have to rely on the fire tender in Berekum to respond to fire cases in Dormaa and by the time it gets there the blaze has already consumed properties worth millions of cedis.
He appealed to corporate institutions, benevolent individuals to support the fire station to repair the broken-down fire tender vehicle to help save lives and properties.
The Ghana National Fire Service is known to be faced with challenges.
Some of the challenges include lack of appropriate logistics to fight fires, inaccessibility to fire sites, inadequate training facilities, and the inability of GNFS to carry out a fire risk assessment before operations.
But the service has assured it is on course managing such challenges for better delivery of their services.
