The Sunyani Police Divisional Commander, ACP Tindow Thomas has expressed worry over how public find it difficult to get closer to police especially to report issue bordering them.
Speaking on Ark in the Morning monitored by Soiree News, the Sunyani Divisional Police Commander urged the public to know that the police are there to protect them and there is no need to be afraid of them.
According to him, it is not a crime for a citizen to request the Police Commander’s number just to report a case.
His comment follows the recent crimes in the Sunyani Municipality involving the mentally deranged man at Adentia, a suburb of Odumasi, the Sunyani West Municipal Capital of the Bono Region, the Junior High School final year student of Miracle Preparatory and some alleged robbery attacks on the Sunyani Berekum Highway.
He said the police will need residents for some vital information in such incidents to Fastrack their investigations hence the need for the general public to assist them that manner.
He pleaded with the public to have confidence in the police as he assured of the police readiness to protect their informants.
