Let's take the military brutalities in Wa seriously-Agalga

Member of Parliament for Builsa North constituency within the Upper West Honourable James Agalga has underscored the urgent need for the House to attach uttermost seriousness to the report of the unfortunate incidence of military brutalities in Wa.
According to the Honourable Member, the resolve of the  House to decisively deal with the matter by bringing to book the culprits and mitigating the plight of the victims would aid in forestalling a future reoccurrence.
Mr. Agalga was speaking in the House at the presentation of a Committee Report on the military brutalities in Wa cautioning that if no serious preference is given to the report to mitigate future occurrences, it may be a panacea for a repeat.

He urged that all measures available be put in place to address the same.
In his bid to second that the report presented by the Vice-Chair of the Committee, be adopted by the House noted that the time has come for the military to take responsibility for their action.
According to him, if the military starts facing the full rogue of the law, it would instill some level of discipline.

Presenting the fact of the case, the Honourable Member said the case was one of clear opportunity to cause the military to be responsible to the people.

According to him, the trigger of the incident was a phone snatching supposedly belonging to one Lieutenant Gyasi who was recently commissioned into the military went to town in a "Mahama can do" whose phone was snatched and upon reaching the barrack mobilized his colleagues to unleash terror on the people of Wa.
"We are in a democracy and the military must accord the civilians respect. Gone are the days where the military abused civilians with impunity but now, the time has come for them to note that these same civilians' taxes are used in their training and upkeep" he explained.
