Denmark has reached the quarter-finals stage of EURO 2020 after beating Wales by 4-0 on Saturday.

The Danes have gradually gained momentum after their first two losses to Finland and FIFA World No.1 ranked team – Belgium in the group stage.

They have managed to pick their form after a sweet triumph over the Russians and now the magnificent performance against Wales.

After their star player, Christian Eriksen was discharged from the hospital due to cardiac arrest which resulted in the collapse of the player in their match against Finland on the field of play, Denmark is now recovering from their own collapse as well.

Kasper Dolberg netted with a brace in the 27th and the 48th minute while Maehle and Braithwaite sealed the deal in the 88th and 94th minute respectively for the Danes.

Dolberg was the hero for his country and he lives up to expectation when he was given the opportunity to prove himself.

When the erstwhile Ajax forward was asked about his inclusion in the starting line-up, he said:

"Obviously I'm happy, this is something I have been waiting for, especially sat on the bench.

“Today when we were walking around the city and walking to the stadium, I felt it was something very, very special for me.

“Today, everything feels right."

The Danes coach also hailed Kasper Dolberg with that tremendous performance after thrashing Gareth Bale and teammates with that huge scoreline.

“I have to say it was an amazing performance. I think we have a star striker in Kasper.

“He didn't get to play too much at the beginning but I saw during training that he was fit. I think it was meant to be to have this huge climax here. The first goal was amazing."

Denmark would now be facing either the Netherlands or the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals on Saturday – July 3rd.
