Defying Supreme Court Judgement: Mahama's Darling Boy Stirs Up Shai Osudoku; 70 Landowners Threaten Curses On Him

Aggrieved members of the Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor Clan, the allodial title owners of Mueter lands in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region have threatened to invoke curses on the Jubilee House Logistics Officer, Mr. Prince Awudu, following his alleged illegal acquisition of cemetery and farmland in Mueter. 

The affected families report that Mr. Awudu has deployed police and military personnel to develop the disputed properties and have called on President John Dramani Mahama to intervene.

According to the members of Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor family, Mr. Awudu has encroached upon the Mueter cemetery and farmlands—a dispute they have reported to the Osudoku Traditional Council. 

They also revealed that Dr. Amartey claims Mr. Awudu, who was tasked with supervising a 20-acre plot purchased by the President in the area, used his position to encroach on approximately six acres of surrounding land."

Dr. Amartey stated that Mr. Awudu took advantage of the situation to encroach upon the land of the Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor Clan, which Dr. Amartey is currently using for a farming project in the community.

"My office was reliably informed that Mr. Richard Nixon Quarshie is purporting to act on the instructions of one Prince Awudu, who alleged that he purchased about 250 acres of land for President John Dramani Mahama," he said.

"I must, however, state emphatically that the Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor Clan does not know any such person by the name of Prince Awudu, nor has my office ever transacted with him in any capacity whatsoever," the farmer clarified.

He revealed that the name of President John Dramani Mahama is being used to harass property owners in the community with armed men on a daily basis.

"How could you take advantage of your association with President John Dramani Mahama to encroach on our family land that I am currently using for a farming project?" the farmer asked.

The farmer added stated that the Jubilee House staffer and ally of President John Dramani Mahama, has defied a Supreme Court judgment by using an excavator to seize 50.1 acres of farmland, destroying cash crops— mango and coconut trees.

According to the farmer, although he submitted a petition to President Mahama—who has encouraged young people to venture into agriculture—the President has remained unconcerned while his loyalist takes the law into his own hands, an unthinkable act that threatens food security in the country.

He lamented that early Thursday morning, July 16, 2026, Prince Awudu hired an excavator to busily construct roads through the coconut farm, noting that Mr Awudu had already destroyed a portion of the coconut farm two years ago.

"We call on President John Dramani Mahama to listen to our plea, immediately intervene, investigate the matter, and call Mr. Awudu to order, because what he is doing now is a complete defiance of the Supreme Court judgment on the land in favor of my Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor family," the farmer appealed.

The award-winning farmer noted that the Supreme Court of the Republic of Ghana, in a judgment titled Ebenezer Kwaku & 2 Ors v. Mankralo Tetteh Otibu IV (Civil Appeal No. J4/53/2021), delivered on July 7, 2021, unequivocally affirmed the allodial title interest of the Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor Clan.

 According to him, this judicial pronouncement reinforces their long-established customary ownership of the land in question, which has never been in doubt.

The farmer accused certain staff members at the Jubilee House of using police officers, military personnel, and land guards to terrorize him and other residents.

 He alleged that these individuals erected a fence wall around the farmland to prevent him from accessing the property he acquired from his family, the Gbesekponor Dongotsonya Zaindor Clan.

He cited incidents on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and Thursday, March 6, 2025, when five heavily armed military officers escorted a Payloader to destroy properties on his farm and those belonging to other individuals, numbering 70 people in Mueter, a farming community located off the Tema–Akosombo Highway.

According to the farmer, this heartbreaking situation has prompted him to petition President Mahama to intervene swiftly and call Mr. Awudu to order, as Mr. Awudu's actions are likely to damage the President's hard-earned reputation.

Mincing no words, the farmer stressed the urgent need for President Mahama to thoroughly investigate the reception staff at the Jubilee House; otherwise, they will tarnish the President's name.

According to him, certain staff members are sabotaging the Jubilee House and must be exposed for preventing his petition from reaching the President regarding land grabbing by Mr. Prince Awudu.

On December 21, 2025, Dr. Amartey submitted a petition to President Mahama to request intervention in the land dispute, but he has yet to receive a response over the past year. 

This delay has led the farmer to express doubts about whether the receptionists at the Jubilee House ever delivered the letter.

The farmer told journalists that he handed the petition to two receptionists, one male and one female, at the Jubilee House in December 2025.

 They assured him that they would forward it to the office of the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, and advised him to follow up in two weeks. When the farmer returned two weeks later, he met two different receptionists on duty.

 When he inquired about the status of his petition, they told him to leave his personal contact information so they could reach out to him.

To this day, the farmer laments that he has not received any feedback from the President, accusing the receptionists at the Presidency of sabotaging President Mahama by blocking a farmer's petition regarding land grabbing in the Mueter community.

The farmer initially disclosed that Mr. Prince Awudu approached him to sell the land and offered compensation for the damage caused. However, when the farmer refused, 

Mr. Prince Awudu hired heavy machinery to demolish the farm's structures and fence off the property. Mr. Prince Awudu vowed to take the land if the farmer refused to comply with his demand to sell the disputed property.

Below is the petition to the President 

Dear Mr. President.

I write to respectfully bring to your attention a matter of great concern affecting me and the entire Mueter community, located off the Tema–Akosombo Highway.

 I am a resident of Mueter and a farmer who has been actively engaged in agriculture since 2013. Over the years, my dedication to farming has earned me recognition as the District Best Farmer Runner-up, and I currently hold the title of Greater Accra Regional Overall Best Farmer (2025).

Mr. President, since February 2025, I have had no peace of mind working on my farm. This began when a man identified as Mr. Prince Awudu allegedly brought armed men into the area, claiming that the lands, including my farm, belong to you.

With the utmost respect, Mr. President, the community has always understood that you own approximately 20 acres of land in the area, which you have developed over the years. 

We have coexisted peacefully with you without any disputes until these recent developments began in February 2025.

I know you to be a peace-loving leader who respects the laws and procedures governing land acquisition in Ghana. It is therefore difficult for me to believe that these actions are being carried out with your knowledge or approval.

Since February 2025, every effort to seek assistance from the Ghana Police Service has yielded little or no result because it is repeatedly alleged that the land in question belongs to you. As a result, the matter has remained unresolved.

Mr. President, you have consistently encouraged Ghanaian youth to venture into agriculture. Sadly, my experience has been the opposite.

Instead of concentrating on expanding my farming business, I have been engaged in a continuous struggle to protect my livelihood from individuals who claim they are acting on your behalf.

In December 2025, I submitted a formal petition to the Jubilee House and have followed up on several occasions. Unfortunately, I have not received any response.

On 5th January 2026, I granted an interview on Neat FM to discuss this issue. 

Shortly after the interview aired, I was informed that the station had been instructed to pull down the story, which they did. 

This left me deeply concerned about the ability of the media to freely report on matters affecting ordinary citizens.

Furthermore, a resident who posted a video about the land dispute on TikTok allegedly had his home visited at night by armed military personnel. These incidents have created widespread fear and anxiety within the community.

Mr. President, residents now live in constant fear due to frequent warning shots allegedly being fired from morning until evening. 

If indeed the land belongs to you, I respectfully appeal that the matter be addressed through the appropriate legal and constitutional processes.

Just three weeks ago, residents sought permission to embark on a peaceful demonstration scheduled for 4th July 2026.

However, the Ghana Police Service advised us to suspend the demonstration while the matter was being considered.

Today, the attached photographs show what is happening on my 50-acre mango farm.

 Individuals have begun constructing a wall around the property, effectively taking control of land that I have worked hard to develop over many years.

Mr. President, I fear that I may become the next target of intimidation. However, I remain committed to speaking the truth because I firmly believe that the truth will always prevail.

I hold you in the highest regard and respectfully appeal for your personal intervention to help restore peace, justice, and confidence in the Mueter community.

Finally, I wish to state clearly that my farm is not for sale. I humbly seek your assistance in ensuring that my property is protected and that the rule of law is upheld.
