Crowds gather for Pope's Mass in Kinshasa

The main airport in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has seen a large influx of people preparing to attend Pope Francis' outdoor Mass later on Wednesday.

On the second day of the pope's visit, tens of thousands of faithful are anticipated to attend the Mass at N'dole Airport.

The largest Catholic population in Africa, at 50% of the total population, is Catholic.

The pope will meet with war veterans from the country's resource-rich east, where a number of armed organizations have been active for many years.

For safety considerations, a trip to the eastern city of Goma was postponed.
