Manchester City have attached a £31m price tag on Eric Garcia.

The 19-year old has rejected a contract extension to stay at the Etihad to continue his career.

Pep Guardiola made the news known during the Champions League pre-match on Thursday.

"He announced to us that he doesn't want to extend his contract with Manchester City.

"He has one more year and after that, he doesn't want to extend. We want it but he doesn't want to, so I imagine he wants to play in another place."

According to Spanish reports, the deal would be an initial £20million fee, with the remaining £11million to be paid in add-ons.

Garcia has 12 months left on his current deal and has featured for Guardiola’s side eight times since the restart.

He has been strongly linked with Barcelona, a club that supervised his development until he joined the Citizens at the age of 17.

Manchester City will lose the player in less than a year and believes that a £31m will do.
