Chelsea have been handed a boost as their pursuit of Ben Chilwell keeps proceeding each day.

Their chances of landing the left-back are elevating following the Evening Standard report on Friday, June 12, 2020, that the Foxes could be forced to lower their asking price for the English International due to the coronavirus effects on the football budget.

Leicester is known to be robust in terms of player sales to the top six Premier League clubs with the recent involving Manchester United on Harry Maguire’s sale.

Maguire joined the Red Devils and signed a six-year contract, with the option to extend for a further year at £80m ($97m), making him the World Most expensive defender.

The Newspaper reported that the Foxes are hoping for a price in the region of £80m, a similar amount as Maguire’s but the collapse of the club’s finances means the price could drop to £50m.

The 23-year old is entitled to a release clause of £42m pounds, which concludes in 2024.

Chelsea have their hopes up high to secure the services of the left-back following The Daily Express report that the Foxes have found a replacement for the player, which meant that, there is the possibility that Ben Chilwell will be under the guidance of Frank Lampard next season yet most importantly, he must help his team to qualify for Europe next season.
