Bring back Operation Feed Yourself to resolve hunger in SHS-EAI

Executive Director for Educate Africa Institute, William Boadi has suggested that the " Operation feed yourself" policy that was been introduce by Acheampong should be brought back to resolve the hunger strike in various Senior High schools in Ghana. 

Speaking on Anopa Nantie Dwumadie Morning show on fresh FM 99.1 claims this initiative by Former President of Ghana Kutu Acheampong helped a lot of schools at that time resulting in school gardens and backyard gardens for many Ghanaians.

According to him, it would be appropriate for every school to have a school farm and if possible district and Regional farms or gardens to curtail the menace of hunger happening in some Senior High schools.

He also said the Education Ministry should have a proper way to deal with hunger strikes in the various Senior High schools because they steer the affairs of education in the country.

If some institutions are telling us not to blame the education Minister for the hunger strike in the various Senior High schools then who should be blamed? he asked 

Adding that the decision by CHASS, Conference of Heads of Schools assisted in upper west and Eastern Region to close down Senior High schools in the Region is the best thing to do since they don't have any other choice and not the responsibility of Teachers to use their own money to feed the students.

His comment comes after some Senior High schools in upper west, Eastern, Greater Accra and some Regions in the country complain of inadequate food.
