 The 32-year-old defender Lee Addy has been signed by Chelsea on a free transfer.

The ex-player for Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star Belgrade has agreed to a three-year deal with Bono-based Berekum Chelsea, although he has the option to quit should a team in another country contact him.

The defender has been working out with the team since the second half of the 2021/22 campaign to join them at the beginning of the current campaign. His expertise and understanding of the game as a former Chelsea player were greatly needed.

During the 2020–21 MTN FA Cup champions Accra Hearts of Oak's head coach Kosta Papic's tenure, the former Black Stars defender was in contact with the team. However, the deal fell through at the eleventh hour because the Serbian coach ultimately left the organization.
