Everton have signed Ben Godfrey from Norwich City, the Merseyside club reports.

The English player who was priced at £20m has penned a five-year contract for the Toffees, taking Carlo Ancelotti’s signing to four - James Rodriguez was acquired for £20m, Allan, according to sky cost Everton £22.3, Doucoure within the region of £20m, Niels Nkounkou and now, Geoffrey.

The 22-year-old central defender captained England Under-21s on his full debut in September 2019 and was an integral part of Norwich’s Championship title-winning campaign in 2018/19.

According to Godfrey, he signed for Everton to win trophies and be a part of the history that Carlo Ancelotti is creating at the Goodison Park.

Everton are the only side in the Premier League to have recorded a perfect start of the season, winning all their four games. They are on top of the league table with 12 points.
