The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Boss, Honorable Osei Assibey Antwi has called on Ghanaians to be grateful to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for his immediate effort to acquire the coronavirus vaccine to fight the pandemic instead of raising abuses at him for disregarding the safety of his citizens.

According to him, the immunization exercise of the AstraZeneca shot ongoing in parts of Ghana is welcome news and the involvement of key leaders to undergo the immunization exercise in the presence of media men is an attestation that indeed government steps towards the covid-19 fight is proving fertile.

“The vaccine is very safe because experts have tested it in the country,” he said.

“The President, his vice have all taken it and in the Ashanti region, Otumfuo (Osei Tutu II) have had his shot this morning.”

Honourable Osei Assibey Antwi in a media briefing after taking his coronavirus vaccine in public explained that the Regional Minister-designate, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah could not partake due to his interview with the vetting committee as he seeks to be approved and continue serving as the Regional Minister, yet apart from that, key stakeholders arrived at Manhyia on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, to receive their shot.

“It's welcome news.

"We have to thank the president for the swiftness in facilitating for us to get it. And especially for the health workers to be considered first, and the frontline is also following.”

He encouraged the media to spread the news on how safe the harmlessness of the covid injection to renew the minds of Ghanaians to strongly partake in the exercise to fight against the virus.

“So I want to plead with a media that please take on board, send a message to all the people, your listeners that the vaccine is safe and everyone should take it.

"So now we'll be able to minimize the influx of the COVID into the people getting affected.”
