Gareth Bale could make his second debut for Tottenham Hotspurs this weekend following his recovery from a knee injury.

The Wales international was left behind by Ryan Giggs during the international break to recuperate due to delay to partake in matches since his switch from Real Madrid to enjoy a season loan at his former club.

The manager of the 31-year old, Jose Mourinho has hinted that Bale is working hard in training with an earnest desire to start featuring in games for Spurs.

“Of course he wants to play,” Mourinho said during the pre-match.

“He wanted to play since the day he arrived, but it was not possible.

“I am not going to tell you if he is going to play, what I can tell you is that he is working very well, he is working in the way he was not able to do for a long time.

“The last week, especially Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the planning of the sessions had a big focus on him and he is in pretty good condition.”

Spurs were on fire against Manchester United before the international break, nailing them to the wood by 6-1 at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho will take on the Hammers who were also brilliant against Leicester City in their fourth fixture, hitting four past Brendan Rodgers side.

Asked whether the captain of the Three Lions have any doubts as to injury after returning from international duty, the Portuguese confirmed that Harry Kane is fit and will be available for selection.

“He arrived not injured, he arrived in condition to start the match on Sunday and that is the most important thing for me,” Mourinho added.
