Aubameyang

Aubameyang has agreed to a contract extension at the Emirates.

The Gunners have finally convinced the 31-year old with an improved offer and the arrival of new signings to bolster the Arsenal team as the new season zooms.

The Gabonese had his current contract set to run out at the end of next season with numerous European clubs linked to the former Borussia Dortmund forward.

ESPN's Senior Football Writer, James Olley, told talkSPORT that the contract has been agreed but “the only reason there has not been an official announcement yet is because Aubameyang is on holiday, which means Arsenal cannot shoot any promotional material featuring their talismanic captain until he returns.”

“Aubameyang is done,” said Olley on Monday's Jim White show.

“My understanding is he’s away on holiday and when he comes back they’ll shoot the promotion stuff.

“Understandably they want to make a big song and dance about it, it’s a huge deal for them and he’s been such an integral part of their team for the last couple of years.

“I believe that deal is literally they’re just waiting to shoot the promo to do the official announcement.

“I believe that deal is 99 percent there.”

Arteta has already acquired Willian from Chelsea as a promising project under his guidance which is set to begin as talks to get new players on board continue.

Aubameyang joined the Gunners in 2018 for a club-record fee of £56 million. He has made 85 appearances for the Gunners in the Premier League and scored 54 goals and 12 assists.

He has won the FA Cup trophy this season with the Gunners.
