Ask How Im Doing When You Call For Help-Nana Aba Anamoah

Ghanaian screen goddess Nana Aba Anamoah has asked people who call to seek her assistance to be kind enough to ask how she is doing instead of making their requests straight away.

In a post she made on her  Twitter on March 10th, 2022,  the General Manager of GHOne Television stated that it's unkind not to find out how the person one wants help from is faring.

She wrote, '‘When you call for a favor, be kind enough to ask how I’m doing. Loading your problems on people without caring about them is a tad insensitive. “Good morning nana. My son needs 3,500 urgently for rent. I’m on my way to your office for help”. That’s not nice. Okay? Stop’

For some time now Nana Aba has been helping the vulnerable by leveraging her networks to secure jobs for them.

In November 2020, she posted a video of her and a university graduate who had become street hawkers because he couldn’t get a job.

According to the young man, he financed his tertiary education by selling toilet paper on the streets of Achimota.

He explained that after graduating in 2019 and completing his National Service with Duaso Hospital, he had no choice but to go back to selling tissue paper on the streets.

After listening to his ordeal, Nana Aba added these words to the video she posted;

‘Desmond is my new friend. Let’s get Desmond off the streets. Kindly send a DM if you have or know of a vacancy anywhere. We rise by lifting others. God bless you.’

In the same period, the media personality helped another street hawker to gain employment with Agoo TV, a station under the media conglomerate, Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB).

However, in 2021, she vowed to stop assisting people as she felt ashamed of the behavior of some individuals she has helped.

“You need an opportunity, you get it, then you start stealing from the person who came through for you. This life eh. I’ve linked some people who needed jobs to great people only to be embarrassed late by their actions. Never again. I’m so ashamed,” she tweeted.
