Concern Parents of Asiedukrom in the Asene Manso Akroso Municipal of the Eastern Region are calling the government of Ghana headed by President Akufo-Addo to as matter of urgency fix the dilapidated classrooms of Kindergarten 1 and 2 of the Asiedukrom M/A basic school.

Speaking to SN24 reporter William Ofori on the state of the structure, the parents said the pupils are beaten by rain whenever it rains during class hours.

“Pupils are beaten every time by the rain when it rains during school hours because the classrooms have no windows and doors. The floors of the room are not tiled so pupils with respiratory health problems such as asthma and other health challenges cease to attend classes due to the dusty nature of the rooms”, the guardians lamented.

They said the building is a death trap that could claim the lives of the pupils if it is not fixed.

The school which was built in January 1984 has not seen any major renovations.

Mr. Kwasi Owusu, a parent who exclusively detailed his statements explained that the Asene Manso Akroso Municipal Assembly begun the construction of the rooms long ago but they are yet to be completed. However, teachers are forced to let pupils study under the building since there no alternatives.

They are therefore calling on the municipal authorities, philanthrosopist before calamity befalls the community if nothing is urgently done about the structure
