Ashanti region - man kills himself with a gun at Atwima Mponua for an unknown reason.

A man identified as Jay Henry and believed to be in his 40s has shot himself to death in his home at Nkensinkrom in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti region.

Residents narrated that, In the afternoon of Wednesday, February 16, the deceased,      Jay Henry locked himself in his room and ordered his 13-year-son to go and engage in football.

 the information further indicated that the deceased placed the gun in his mouth and used his leg to press the trigger.

Kwaku Godfred son of the deceased said, while he was on his way to play football as instructed by his deceased father,  he heard a gunshot which caused him to panic.

His worst fear was confirmed when the door was forced open to reveal his father lying in a pool of blood.

Information revealed that his wife Yaa Abro was on their farmyard harvesting some foodstuffs for their evening consumption when the sad incident occurred.

The deceased Henry left seven (7) children behind.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Nyinahini hospital morgue by the Nyinahini police command pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, residents are in fear as they are unable to ascertain the main cause of Henry's death.
