Kofi Jamar, a Ghanaian hip-pop musician has claimed that top artistes now pay attention to him after his single 'Ekorso' hit the airwaves.

The rapper stated that the new development is in sharp contrast to the times when he suffered a lot of rejection from the same group of musicians before the song made him popular.

Now, he said, they all want to associate with him, even sending in proposals to feature on the remix of his track.

He said this while speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb’s Talkertainment host, Elsie Lamar.

Kofi admitted that he understands the nature of music, as this is how it works with musicians even though it’s totally unfair for artists to treat their fellow colleagues with disdain.

“People want to associate themselves with you when they see you up there. That human nature. Though I won’t say they completely turned me down at a time I needed them, they came up with all sorts of excuses at that time."

"This time around the excuses are no more, they all want a feature on the song and you can tell that it's part of human nature,”

“Ekorso blew up by itself. There was not much work put into the promotion. Much was not done for it in terms of finance. It just blew up because of the trend and it's spreading like wildfire. Although we are not making some plugins we are supposed to make, it is pushing itself,” he said.

Kofi however expressed his shock at how his song has enjoyed airplay and how it has been well received by music lovers, adding that he didn’t in any way expect such high patronage.

He concluded that the song became an instant hit to the extent that his team did not have to put in much effort to promote it.
