TV personality, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has stated that Ghanaians now are in possession of their own lives after the President lifted the partial lockdown.

She claimed that whatever happens to any individual now is up to them as each person must now take responsibility for her own wellbeing. 

She expressed her views after the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, lifted the three-week partial lockdown imposed on the Greater Accra, Kumasi, Kasoa and Tema areas effective 1:00 am on Monday, April,20, 2020. The award winning broadcaster stated that the responsibility has now shifted to citizens from the government. 

She stated that individuals have to strategize and decide what to do to stay safe and protect their families and loved ones. She claimed that individuals are responsible for their own lives since the lockdown has been lifted by the President.

"The president of Ghana has spoken. Now we, as individuals have to strategize and decide what to do, to stay safe and protect our families and loved ones."

"The back and forth arguments will not help us, especially, the non-politicians. What we need to do now, is to ask ourselves, ‘what is next?’ Our lives are in our own hands!!! We shall overcome! Be wise!! Stay safe!!! Stay Alive. And Trust in God."

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases in Ghana have jumped to 1042 and according to the President, the increase in numbers is as a result of 68, 591 tests conducted with nine people having died from the disease while 99 people have recovered and discharged.

“I must make it clear that lifting these restrictions does not mean, we’re letting our guard down,” the President noted in a televised broadcast on Sunday, adding all other measures are firmly in place and has not been relaxed.
