Arsenal are already on the move for Serbian International Dusan Vlahovic in the past.

The Fiorentina’s striker has been in stunning form in his campaign, bagging 21 goals in just 34 Serie A appearances. With Fiorentina struggling to even reach mid-table in the league, numerous big clubs are hoping to sign him this summer.

One of those clubs is Arsenal FC, who were said to be leading the race for his signature back in March but according to Italian source Corriere Fiorentino via Sport Witness, Arsenal have signed the striker years ago.

The Gunners reportedly tried to sign him in 2017 when he was playing for boyhood side Partizan Belgrade. Fiorentina were ultimately successful, however, and took him to Italy for a €1.5million fee.

The deal was linked to their signing of Nikola Milenkovic. The centre-back joined from Partizan in 2017, and Fiorentina’s directors added Vlahovic to the transfer a year later.

Arsenal chiefs are keen to add to Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer. One position that needs reinforcements is attack. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are Arteta’s favoured options, having both captained the side this term but with Lacazette continuously linked with an Emirates exit, and Aubameyang now 31 years old, a new striker is needed.

Vlahovic could be the perfect man to take them to the next level. He has been Fiorentina’s talisman this season, scoring an impressive eight goals in his last six games.

At just 21 years old, he could spearhead their attack for years to come.

A strong relationship with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe is on the cards too, so it’s clear to see why Arsenal officials want to sign him.

Fiorentina are reluctant to sell so a €50million bid would be required to bring him to England.  Vlahovic’s compatriot and team-mate, Milenkovic, is also being linked with a Premier League move with Manchester showing keen interest in him to partner with Harry Maguire.
